Members can alter their membership information at any time, but only administrators can join new members to the group. This helps prevent abuses that are common to many newsgroups and other open forums.

To view your membership information, click on the members button as found at the bottom of nearly every page.

If you have already logged into the system - either by posting an article or by doing other administrative work such as moving or deleting an message - your current information should be returned to you in the form. If you haven't logged into the system yet, put your member id into the User ID field, check the "Inquire about User ID" radio button, and press "Submit". The page should update itself with your current information.

To alter any of the fields, change the data in the field, check the "Join or Change" radio button, and press "Submit". If you make a mistake, you can reset the entire form by pressing the Reset button.

Concerning security
You may not want to enter your home phone number or address. Your school's address would suffice, and provides a better measure of privacy.

When chaning a password, try to choose something unrelated to other passwords you may have. The passwords for the Scratchings pages are highly insecure, and have the potential for being intercepted by unauthorized users. Setting your password to be the same as other system passwords opens your other accounts to malicious users.
