Day 2: The Heart of the Matter 3-D Reconstruction of a 48 Hour Chick Embryo 
The different layers and organs are colored in the following manner: ectoderm (blue), mesoderm (red), and endoderm (yellow). The blue neural tube becomes the brain and nervous system. Parts of the eye and ear also come from the neural tube. The yellow gut becomes the digestive tract.
